Also known as Golden Birch for its distinctive, golden peeling bark – is a native, deciduous tree that grows throughout New York State and the Adirondack Mountains. Showy catkins appear just before leaf emergence. The dark green leaves have a pointed tip and finely double-toothed edges. New foliage emerges a bronze green color and turns a bright yellow in the fall. Deciduous, keep outdoors.
